Watch Out in Wharncliffe This Weekend

by 1

We’ve had a nice note from the horsey people who use Wharncliffe Woods that this weekend (6th and 7th June 2009) they will once again be having a long distance horse ride in Wharncliffe Woods. Please be especially aware of horse riders if you’re riding near the woods and give them your usual cheery greetings.

On the Saturday the riders will be out and about from 12 to 5pm using routes in Wharncliffe and Wheata Woods as well as going out along the Trans Pennine Trail to Penistone.

On Sunday it will be from 8.30am to 3.30pm and the riders will be mainly in Wharncliffe and greno woods and only along the TPT to Oxspring.

If you are going to be in the area on those dates please be aware that some of the riders may be novices or children and so can you call out so that they know you are approaching.

The horse riders are riding in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance too, so we like them even more.

    Thanks for the heads-up.

Having been rescued from Wharncliffe by the Yorkshire air ambulance I can vouch for it’s excellent service.

Hope the horse riders have a good day.
