Anthill Film’s Follow Me – London Premiere

News from our friend Sanny about the London premiere of Follow Me:

On Wednesday 26th May CycleSurgery presented the London premiere of Follow Me, the latest production from Anthill Films, and viewers also helped raise over £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support.follow me

The charity raffle on the night featured prizes donated by Madison, including Atherton and Kovarik PRO signature series accessories, and one of the first Shimano XT Dyna-Sys 10 speed groupsets to arrive in the UK, with free fitting by CycleSurgery.

Featuring British rider and 2008 UCI DH World Champion Gee Atherton amongst a host of familiar faces, Follow Me is a modern portrait of mountain bike lifestyle, getting back to basics and reminding us why we all love to ride bikes. Breaking from the traditional single rider format, Follow Me is based on the idea that “no one rides alone”; mixing and matching the world’s best downhillers, freeriders and slopestylers in some of the best places to ride on the planet – think backyard sessions, ripping local trails, training bike parks, epic road trips and heli drops. Follow Me is all about good times, pushing limits with your friends, crazy adventures and most importantly having fun your bike.

Here’s a quick preview:

Follow Me will change the way you see mountain bike films and get you stoked to get off the couch and ride!

Riders include Gee Atherton, Sam Hill, Darren Berrecloth, Ben Boyko, Brendan Fairclough, Geoff Gulevich, Matt Hunter, Cam McCaul, Brandon Semenuk, Steve Smith, Kurt Sorge and Thomas Vanderham

The tour relies on the generosity and support of independent bike shops and people within the bike industry to make the screenings happen. As such, several of the screenings will be holding charity raffles on the night.

Screenings where you can win some pretty special prizes include:

Ambleside – one winner will be the very first in the country to get their hands on a 10 speed Shimano mountain bike groupset as well as a host of PRO signature series accessories (prizes courtesy of Albert at Madison and www.biketreks.net)

Brighton – prizes courtesy of Dom and the team at www.kinesisbikes.co.uk

At the Bath screening, a big after screening party and prize raffle is planned courtesy of www.jonashelford.com who has previously brought sell out mountain bike film screenings to The Little Theatre Cinema.

The tour kicked off with the Sell Out European Cinema premiere at the Glasgow Film Theatre (www.gft.org.uk) on Tuesday 27th April 2010 and is now touring the whole of the UK and Ireland with screenings of Follow Me being shown with either The Collective or Seasons depending on the venue. The tour ramps up a notch with several screenings planned across the country over the next few days. Many of the venues are approaching sold out so if you plan to go, the advice from the cinemas is to book in advance to avoid missing out on the night.

Dates already confirmed below with new dates being added daily. A regularly updated list of dates and locations can be found at www.anthillfilms.com/followme.php and clicking on the Tour option. Dates will be announced for South Africa and also the French premiere in Morzine courtesy of www.flowmtb.com in the near future.

off to watch it at Hyde Park picture house on Friday in Leeds

Shall be going to watch it in Dublin.

    Hi folks

Tonight is the Southampton screening at the Harbour Lights. There are some tickets left for this as it was a very last minute addition to the tour.

Tomorrow is the Leeds screening at the Hyde Park Picturehouse which is looking like it will sell out.

Sunday the 6th is the screening at Bristol at the Cube cinema.

Last night, we played to a sell out crowd in Inverness.

Ticket sales have been brisk at all the venues. the more folk who come along, the more likely I can do this kind of tour again so to everyone who has come to the shows, a very big THANK YOU!

    Cheers

    Sanny

PS Big thanks to everyone in the industry for supporting the tour. The Bath, Brighton and Ambleside screenings will also see charity raffles on the night with some great prizes to be won.

I’m off to Leeds tomorrow as well, sweet.

Any news of a Manchester showing. The Dancehouse Theatre would be a good venue.
