any one know where i could get the above from (set post shim) from or has one spare ?

USE will make a custom one for you for about 6 quid - I got one for my dropper seat post.
The USE part code is SS30-9-31.6
USE don't deal direct with the public so you'll need to get your LBS to order it. I got evans to do this and it took 4 days to arrive.
It's pretty thin, but if you leave it in there it seems to be fine - better than a coke can shim in that it won't fall down the seat tube.

I managed to get away with a bit thin alloy I had in the shed - you could use a bit of coke can.
in the end I got myself a 31.6 post.
EDIT; interesting that USE will now do a custom shim
