As above. They all seem to be Oversize these days...
Need some flat bars (c.700mm) which fit a standard clamp. Think Salsa Pro Moto's fit the bill, but the backsweep is all wrong. Need to be straightish.
Any suggestions?
Hi Chas,
The widest that I can find are the Salsa Moto Ace aluminium flat bar, 25.4mm clamp, at 660mm long.
See here.
Edd
EDIT: ps They come in 5, 11 or 17° bend so you can get a "normal" 5° bend.
I think the answer is no.
Bars just used not to be that wide.
Titec Flat trackers used to be 660mm too
The Titec Flat Tracker now only comes in OS (31.8mm).
Without going custom I don't think you'll find a 25.4 in that width.
I think it's a matter of stiffness. Surly 1x1 bars are 666mm but they;re pretty back swept
I think that the Surly 1x1 (Torsion Bar) is made from steel so silly heavy...
I might have some old Titec Flat Tracker bars in the garage with a small clamp size - can check later.
Not exactly what you need but I have some Easton mid rise carbon bars 25.4, 710mm, a year old and very, very little use. Interested?
Cheers, all. Thought that was the case. Just didn't want the added expense of buying a new stem 🙂
Edd - Ta for that. Thought the Salsas only came in 11 or 17 so will investigate the 5. 660mm (26") should be ample width.
Schmolke make wide flat bars in 25.4, but quite pricey (above £100) not sure what size they go upto in 25.4 but around 700mm anyway.
They are avaliable from poshbikes.
Will add some weight but Iv'e tried something called wide on. Some bar plugs you use with clamp on grips. Think they add 2,5 cm each side.
Tried googling them again but their webpage seems cloosed. There is this: Wide-on facebook . And aparently wide on means something else aswell!?
Ohh, and ds3000, I would like some pics of the bar and a price estimat on kasperrfmadsen(A)gmail(.)com, please.
Sorry for hijack..
