Stupid bloody fall at Hopton on sunday.

Broken and displaced unla and radius, got some shiny new metal work yesterday. Just boredom to contend with now.

Two weeks before the start Pearce series too. Boo.

Cheers to Lyn for helping with the bike and getting me in the van and the guys that stopped to pick me up.

Broke my scaphoid on 7th march - well suspected, off to fracture clinic tomorrow for x ray confirmation and new plaster. Annoying, a winter of crap riding and as soon as it dries up and looks nice you go an eff yourself up. I feel for you.

Oh well that's put missing my first race due to man-flu into perspective.

What's the Pearce Series BTW?

Yeah the Pearce's are super nice people too, Lindsey just gave me a call to see if i was alright.

They run a 6 event downhill series at a number of tracks around ludlow, and run one of the best organised uplifts most weekends.

Meant to be my first taste of proper racing booked on the whole series - been doing uplifts all winter and have even cut the smoking and drinking back to the rare occasion in prep and now this ๐Ÿ™

Was just trying to decided if i could justify a new race bike... Might still have to buy a Foes RS7 to cheer myself up - just dont know if i can sit here looking at it for 3months...

Cheers for the support all. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a simlar break myself "volar bartons" fracture, painful and it's a week since i also had some shiny Titanium goodness added to my bones. Sadly nothing like Wolverine or i'd never fear falling again.

You have my complete sympathy. 8 weeks in plaster and the Orthopod who treated me told me no impact based sports for 12 weeks... buggers biking and Rugby.

Ho hum.

I might have to come and marshall if i can get lifts. Wont be riding the first three rounds thats for sure - shame really as that means i miss bringewood (twice) which is the one track i thought i might do ok on ๐Ÿ™

2010 sucks so far- rebroke collarbone, volvo engine had to be rebuilt @ cost of new DH frame, Camper has broken down (again) now broken arm meaning no riding and racing for 3months.

I cant even lift a SLR to do race photos ๐Ÿ™

Its not exactly if there is anything in my life other than mtb and photography ๐Ÿ™ boooooo.

(appologies for self pityingness)

Yeah, they belong to my mate Will Capt'n of the race team. Im tall and those are a very far away (said in a Father Ted voice) There is no SO, unfortunately ive had surgery more times than sex in the last couple of years.

And that is a pretty gnarly leg to be fair.

Looking at the OPs pic I would say indeed that arm has failed. Perhaps you overstressed it. Is it carbonfibre or an octoporn product? I am not sure you will be able to return it for replacement however

Aye, definately over stretched. Fortunately the NHS repaired it under warranty. Which was nice, and i didnt have to claim on the insurance.
