Spent the weekend at the Pwll Du Adventure Centre nr Blaenavon doing some training for the Microsoft Challenge (two teams from HP are entered again this year).

Started off great with ride round the Trwch Trail @ Cwmcarn, great fun, with another load of cycling and running plus puzzle solving and building egg throwing machines to look forwards too.

Anyway, got back to the centre at 9:30pm, got some grub on, went outside to get something form the car and one of the bike is gone and some light fingered **** had almost had mine away, now I know leaving bikes on racks is dumb but they were locked with a cable lock and unattended in the middle of nowhere and in the space of an hour one of them had been nicked!

Police were great as it happens, turned up within 30 mins! Whether they can find it remains to be seen, not a mega spec bike but nice and light and as it happens on loan to the person riding it… 🙁

It’s a blue GT with red manitou forks on it, about 7 or 8 years old, v-brakes, very good clean condition, probably being ridden Abergavenney or Blaenarvon.

So now Sarah has to find another bike AND sort out a replacement through (hopefully) her household insurance, what a complete pisser.

We’re trying to raise money for the NSPCC (the Microsoft Challenge is a major fundraiser for them). It would really cheer Sarah up no end if a few fellow mountain bikers were to throw a few quid their way 🙂
