...pah to the dissertation ๐Ÿ˜† I SOOO want to make a set of these. In your role of Lighting 'GURU' of the highest order, do you think one could construct one of these puppies in one's own shed - in DIY stylie, bearing in mind I do not own a lathe, milling machine etc etc.

Also, the 'stuff' that you posted up within the following thread I'm really impressed with, you reckon it could withstand light unit heat output?

There are various finned heatsinks available from a variety of sources that you can cut up and fiddle with.

I have used computer cpu heatsinks and also http://www.led-tech.de/en/High-Power-Supply/Coolers-c_106_114.html

My multimeter has a heat sensor on it so I can check the lreds are getting enough cooling.

some of the power supplies have overheat cutouts on them as well. Teh smallest completely self contained unit I was able to build is a cylinder 16mm across and 30 mm long weiging around 40 grammes including power supply - bits of copper pipe and a bit of one of the heatsinks above.

I am halfway across a customers floor

We wouldn't have this problem if you'd just take credit cards like everyone else.

LT you wanna play with a micro light

[IMG] [/IMG]
[IMG] [/IMG]

the driver is fubared and needs digging out the leds XPEs are still good I think .
you can have it to restore .
get one of those Black cat drivers from Teapot on ebay
and off you go
3 optics included
just pay the postage .

no it cant handle the heat if stood still so you need to pedal faster .

if you do it right 700 lumens for nowt

needs a 12 volt battery or above .
