in case you haven't spotted - it's the same photo, but with a bit of photoshopping...
Aye, that's so petty.
Makes sense, considering the DG has disbanded

um, CVDG still raised the cash for it all (including the signs on the waymarkers that have been removed. No CVDG, no trails at Carron Valley.
FCS have to be commended yet again for abusing taxpayers money.....they can spend time and resources removing all trace of CVDG (the group who had the idea and raised the funding for all the current trail development)from sign posts that were erected by CVDG when they fail to do their basic duty of care and remove fallen trees that are blocking sections of trails at CV and the trees have have been there for a few months. FCS are on record as saying they do monthly safety inspections of the trails at CV
FCS preach that health and safety is paramont and comes first......hmmmm!!!!
Is it just local 'bad blood' or a central policy problem?
The link makes dire reading - unfortunately it's only the tip of the iceberg...
Dan - it certainly does not make sense going to all that trouble whilst studiously avoiding dealing with far more important issues like the example given above.
Here's another one - see if you can spot the virtual airbrushing in this link: (see under "Facilities")

Well spotted. Yes, there has been an operational toilet at the CV car park for circa 6 months so you might think that's something you'd want to tell prospective visitors to Carron Valley all about(and more importantly childrens groups etc) But nup, according to the Forestry Commission the nearest one's in Denny..
Hmmm... this would be the same toilet the FC spent over 5 years securing "at no cost to the taxpayer" through an unusual leasing arrangement with a sitting tenant - then failed to build it. The same toilet that was eventually built with "re directed" CVDG funds originally secured for building more trails plus a bucket load of your cash of course.
Must be the most expensive and long running (sorry) bog this side of Buckingham Palace...
A beauracratic oversight? Dont think so - you can get a daily trail conditions forecast on other parts of the Forestry Commissions MTB web portal.
DESF - Bad blood? Well, setting aside the petty vindictiveness above that would be to trivialise the very serious shortcomings in FCS behaviour and competency to manage that location and that partnership at the highest level.
Stewards enquiry please!
