Buying new brake pads for the first time, as my front organic ones seem to have died. What are the pros/cons of sintered/organic? Should I be buying sintered for the muddy months?
Bump for pitys sake. 🙁
Sintered here all year round, organics tend to be softer giving a bit more power, apparently, but wear out loads quicker. If you factor in mud to this you can quite easily us one set of pads per ride.
I tend to run normal organic ones in the front & sintered for the rear
Sintered for me (muddy winters).
Ok, so the primary reason for running sintered is extended pad life then?
P.S thanks for replies!
Sintered all the time. Better braking unless you are a downhill racer and can generate sufficient heat to require organic. Sintered also last longer
Sintered.
just got through a half worn set of organic rears in a 5 hour ride on sunday.
Ok, sintered pads on order... thanks guys.
