1st time in years ive listened to them, still like Echoes for me.
More or less snap, really. Love it late at night, when it's all quiet...
Saucerful of Secrets probably fave album, for the title track and Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, but Wish You Were Here for Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Animals, Piper At The Gates Of Dawn- ooh, most of it really. Not a fan of owt more recent than Final Cut though. Got ****y after that.
Some critics might say it's all ****y, but then they listen to Phil Collins so aren't to be trusted anyway.

Oh, and if you get a chance to see the Aussie Pink Floyd they are very good.
Wish You Were Here
as a whole album gotta be final cut for me. I first listened to that after loads of guinness and few dodgy smokes on a last night blow out before i flew out to war the next day. Kinda weird really lol good times 🙂
Proggy Garbage to me. I appreciate that it shaped a lot of stuff I do like but it sounds like someone banging a few pots and pans together
The stuff by Sid Barratt was dire IMO, never understood the fuss about him, maybe you had to be caught up in the moment at the time. Saucer Full is excellent (except corporal clegg, which sounds like Barrett tripe).
West Coast Pyschedelia for me, all the way.

BLAS-PHEEEEEMER!

Shine on you crazy diamond

Conversely, I think everything after Saucerful became increasingly beige and soulless sterile-rock-by-numbers until the plodding and the wailing and the ****ing dire, passionless gilmour solos and the suburban middle management saxaphones dreary shite of the 70s. IMO, like.
I like Piper.
I was no prog fan either, hence no comment, so guess that leaves me with a Saucer Full. 😕
Comfortably Numb
Gets me every time.................
Obscured by Clouds
Look stop it now 'cause I'm going to have to go reload the ipod & fill it full full of Pink Floyed
Shine on you Crazy Diamond
followed by in no particular order
Echoes
Welcome to the Machine
See Emily Play
Arnold Layne
High Hopes
Time
Oh I’ve just thought – Interstellar Overdrive
Another vote for Obscured by clouds
Animals is also awesome, as are meddle and atom heart mother...
And of course Dark side is the classic of all classics....
I don't know, do I really have to choose?
sounds like someone banging a few pots and pans together
That sounds like someone who hasn't listened to enough Floyd.
Cirrus Minor. Utter loveliness, almost makes me cry if it's loud enough
Always Comfortably Numb for me but the live verson.
It's my most played record on my ipod.
Also would LOVE to see them live one day!!
Relics
It reminds me of sitting in the bedroom that I shared with my older brothers, wondering what that strange sweet smelling smoke was and getting the munchies from passively inhaling it -mmmmm toast and brown sauce 💡
No wonder I got **** all out of school 🙄
Big Mac and large fries please.
Has to be comfortably numb live on the Pulse album. That guitar solo... mmmmmmmmm
Syd would have fitted right in here. I mean, he had a bike with things to make it look good; he'd have given it to you too but he'd borrowed it. Shine on you Crazy Diamond has a lot of meaning if you remember Syd, crazy would appear to have been an apt description of where he went.
album: wish you were here
song: wish you were here (all time fave song, not just pink floyd)
Anything Mr Waters had an input to is good (apart from the opera Sh*te) lots of great stuff, but i guess i now take it for granted-which is sad 🙁 sheep still plays in my head when riding..in Wales! Meddle is class. Amused to Death is inspired (even the 3d gimmicky sound)
Granchester Meadows.
Hear the larken harken to the barking of the dog fox gone to ground.
Great choice! And all of Fred's suggestions too.
And everyone else's for that matter.
A river of green is sliding unseen beneath the trees
Laughing as it passes through the endless summer making for the sea.
Darn it, gotta get my record player dusted off now.
Seen MacFloyd the last few years. They are very good too. It's got to be the Delicate Sound of Thunder album and the Comfortably Numb version on there. Hey You and Wish you were here get honourable mentions.
meddle
Watched them at the Hyde Park Bob Geldolf benefit gig a few years back... Old blokes trying desperately not to make eye contact with each other, TBH they didn't even look like they wanted to be on the same stage

ahh green microdots in the dales 😀
Sheep.
Fat Old Sun.
Nobody Home.
Well, for fear of looking an idiot, I'm going to fess up to liking the 'wall', but as I spent most of my youth watching the film whilst smoking a bong through a 1/4 bottle of scotch, then I'm sure you can forgive me 😆
Love most of them but Atom Heart Mother. That's just bollox isn't it 😕
Paul Simonon?
