Here's how you can get Follow Me on iTunes in UK or any other country. It's super simple and actually works!
Step 1. Get iTunes US Free account

Step 2. Buy an iTunes gift card for iTunes US Store.

Step 3. Log in to your iTunes US account, redeem gift code, buy Follow Me.

It doesn't cause syncing problems. Everything you own shows up irrespective of which market you're logged into- otherwise you'd only be able to sync or play purchases if you were logged in- everything you'd purchase would disappear if you couldn't get an internet connection.

You're paying some dude $18 dollars for a $15 iTunes vouchers as there isn't a 'legit' way of buying a US one from outside the US. It says in the FAQ that they take up to 24hrs to send codes to new customers.
I agree - went through the setup as above as I'd read so much about it, and apart from Atherton & Smith in NZ, it's pretty disapointing.
