A few weeks back I had a right good moan about the FC replacing all of our local single track with 2.5m wide featureless gravel access roads.

The FC have since been in touch to explain what is going on. The existing single track is to become access roads… but they are building new blue (and perhaps red grade) trails all over the site! Work has already begun and by all accounts it is a bit of a hoot to ride.

They have asked to meet up with local user groups to discuss future development and perhaps some dig days. The site plan even has the magic word “berms” on it.

Winner! Nice to see someone being proactive and getting results 🙂

I can't claim any credit. They were doing the blue route anway but weren't telling anybody. If they build some reds then the Hit the North Council of Elders will take a tiny little bit of praise as we have been pestering them about it.

    Awesome!

Have they designed any of the singletrack with beer tent locations in mind? 😉

We're well ahead of them on the beer tent front!

Got a meeting on the campsite tomorrow as it 'appens to discuss toilets and beer tents and somewhere to plug in the band.

It's going to be rather ace living on the edge of a trail centre. A small one admittedly, but anyway.
