My new Formula R1's have arrived this morning and I'm peeved to say the least. The rear lever came all nicely packed in a bag marked "rear" with a silver painted lever and handlebar clamp, all good up to now.

The front however!!!! This came in a previously opened bag with no protective packaging between the lever and caliper (they're both covered in abrasion marks), aside from that it's got the same length hose as the rear one despite the packaging being marked "front." Then to top things off the lever is polished and the handlebar clamp black!

Looks like I'm going to miss the weekends riding then... ๐Ÿ™

Rant over! ๐Ÿ™

And your first reaction is to post it on the web rather than give the retailer a chance to sort it out! Only Wednesday today CRC can easily have a replacement with you tomorrow if you direct your energy towards them.

Yeah fair points, just an unnecessary pain in the arse though don't you think. ๐Ÿ™

After spending ludicrous sums on a pair of brakes you'd at least hope for a matching pair! ๐Ÿ™„

I ordered a pair of shorts for my son but in the wrong size. Chain Reaction had a pair in the post next day so he had some for the weekend. I sent the others back a few days later when I could get to the PO. Also I bought an Intense Cruiser frame which came marked on the BB. Took some pics and sent them to Chain Reaction and they apologised and offered a discount or refund.
Excellent service I thought.

Yeah, pain in the arse, but they will sort you.
My mate bought some wheels off them - first set were marked, replacement set were nicked from outside his house, but CRC still sent him another set.

Pain yes but they will sort it. My recent order never appeared and still hasn't, the replacement arrived the day after sending.

I'm with you to some extent Dan, I can't believe that the chap who packed this didn't know what was being done, just didn't bother to do it properly.

On the other hand they should sort it for you, good luck,

Alex

I would feel fairly confident that they will sort it out.

Make it clear on the returns form that you are rejecting the items under the distance selling regulations 2000 and return them within 7 days if you are worried.

Your rights when buying over the internet are the same as when you buy goods from the high street. However, you may also have additional rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. In most cases, you are entitled to a seven working day cancellation period during which you can change your mind. Your rights against a private seller are considerably reduced so care must be taken with internet auction sites.

That's a bit OTT - isn't it, abductee?
CRC will sort this without the need to get all 'Barrack Room Lawyer' with them ๐Ÿ˜€

I bought a mech hanger last week, it arrived with a hole in the outer envelope, a hole in the inner bag and paint scraped off the hanger. The bag even had bits of grit in it! Not CRCs fault, I couldn't help but wonder though how on earth the post people had managed to do that. Still, its a mech hanger, so I coloured in the scratches with a marker pen and put it on the bike.
