This subspecies of the grey wolf lives close to human habitation in northern Spain
Yikes! I live close to human habitation in northern Spain!!!
I'd love to see one of those. That would make my life.
Indeed stunning photo ๐
Best photo I've seen in a looooooong time.
great photo. Don't get many of those in a lifetime without a lot of effort.
Good call Tyger
Even the gate looks out of a fairy tale! Well spotted Tyger.
wolves are ace. Until they flip out and kill people. Real ultimate power.
Fantastic. Been trying to catch one of my dog like that - now I know - I need an infrad-red trap!
Brilliant........ real fairytale stuff - just needs little red riding hood running away off to the right of the picture!
Isn't there a call to re-introduce wolves to Scotland?
Amazing and beautiful shot. and taken on film as well. proper skill and dedication.
Wow!!
I think rocketdog's version is better ๐
>Until they flip out and kill people,<
Yeah - happens all the time. Not...
>Isn't there a call to re-introduce wolves to Scotland?<
Not so much a call - more a rich mans obsession:

Not thats he's alone:

Too much land in too few hands - I dont see it happening...
OP - fantastic pic
Wolves in the Highlands would be great pity that a) they have to be fenced in so countryside access laws are breached and b) they (under zoo reg.s) cannot be in an enclosure with their prey as that would be cruel so the whole rebalancing of nature goes out the window.
OP - that pic is made for an ageing rocker's T-shirt

Shame, would be great - but then it might not be if you lived there ๐ฏ
I think wolves in the highlands would be great, and I'd happily live there. The number of known wolf-human kills across the WORLD in the last hundred years is 1/10th the number of people killed by pet pitbulls in the last 25 years in the US alone. People have no sense of proportion or probability.

Agreed however, Paul Lister is man who thinks the end justifies the means.
I think this is good, especially as MY BROTHER took it...

That is a nice shot, especially of a wild one.
from further down the BBC page
The male jaguar sat on the riverbank calmly staring at the photographer
yep, thinking 'I've just eaten, not sure I could go another course!'
Some stunning work there...
I admire enormously the skill involved in getting that wolf picture, but I'm not terribly excited by it I must admit.
It's photography as "hunting" rather than "painting" perhaps, matter of taste.
And wolves are indeed AWESOME. ๐
Wildlife Photographer of the Year?
Always absolutely stunning. I get the book every year for Xmas. Just inspiring.
