Decided didn't need two bikes anymore so sold the 575 and the HT, this arrived today in replacement of both, should fit the bill nicely (though I am thinking of building up a Klein Attitude at some point)

I'd be more interested in how you'd describe it as not being hideous.... ๐Ÿ˜‰

would a Hammer Schmidt go on that?
Something different. I like it. As is often the case here, if you go for something out of the norm and do not conform then it's rubbished straight off.

And I'm kind of glad of the response, anyone who knows these bikes or read the reviews know how good they are, the fact that people think like that means you hardly see any, which suits me fine as the idea of riding something like a Specialized, which it seems 50% of people do, is not my cup of tea.

As for selling the Yeti for it, yes I did, and when ,I bought the Yeti it was a close run thing whether I got a Mav or the 575, the 575 was a great bike, but the back end was too flexy for a bigger rider like myself

Mr Krabbs that 575 isn't exactly the most handsome frame i've ever seen.

'Grezelda'

Found this pic of one built up, hardly ugly, not that it would make much difference anyway

ah, I see, definitely different, tried working out what effect the BB being in the middle link would do to the chain length, sag and travel behavior but I think I may have broken my brain!

Mavericks do ride really nice, though one thing you always notice on mavericks is people struggling to get the seat far enough forward, as demonstrated in the pic above ^^^^ and here

I have a Thomson layback which I intend to reverse as above, though the bike suits a sit sown and weight back rider and I like a long cockpit anyhow

If it fits you then you'll love it. I had an ML8, best rear end sus' action ever for combination of pedalling feel and bump absorption, but I just couldn't get the bugger to fit my long legs. Sold it.

Have ridden both and the 575 is a far more efficient rear end suspension system the maverick just wallows IMO any way. Nothing wrong with the way a 575 looks ๐Ÿ™‚

The 575 needs propedal, that is what maks it efficient on the climbs, but like I said, was too flexy for me
