Would they be as good as the ones aldi had in a few months ago.?

Oh, might be worth a punt as a helmet/back up commuting light, anyone with any knowledge of these things care to 'illuminate' me as to if these are any good?

dunno what cree led or what size torch so what size batteries.

from the burn time my guess would be not bright enough but its a guess

As TJ said with a 4 hour burn time on probably two AA batteries it's not going to be crazy bright. My Cree Q5 runs for around 2 hours on hi which is around 180-200 lumen. If You want cheap and bright check the cree bike lights on eBay. It's a torch with a handlebar mount but is very bright plus for the price You get a rear light as well. The rear one is the most rubbish rear light I ever saw but as the package was so cheap than can't complain really.
