LoL all of those might work, but it's not the mantra taught to me by an ex pro back in the early eighties. A mantra that has stayed with me ever since.

A mantra that some roadies never get. But a mantra that could change the way you ride in a group forever!!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

The answer is.....

"Through, across, ease"....

Make of it what you will. It's late here I'm off to bed. Got a big ride on tomorrow.

May God bless you all.

Good night,

SB

Through - as in don't mess about switching shirking. Just go through when it's your turn. You don't have to hammer through, just ride up in the line and ride through onto the front.

Across - Once you go past the leading rider, as their front wheel disappears from your periferal vision start to move over.

Ease - Just ease slightly on the pedals allowing the next man through. You don't have to do a big turn on the front.....

Just go through across and ease. IMHO some people never get it.
