[#1282140]

I sometimes buy stuff just because I think it's stonking deal and wondered if the collective hive mind of all of the STW people think its a good idea to post what seems to be too good to be true stuff...

Anyway bought an XT rear mech from Wiggle today. £26 http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Shimano_XT_M771_OE_Rear_Derailleur/5360044756/

Thats cheaper than the replacement jockey wheels (ish)

Good spot, thanks for sharing.

Anyone after a cheap sus fork should have a look at the Toras on there. Solo air 318 (with motion control I think) for £92!

I did pick up an XTR M971 long cage rear mech from wiggle which arrived today. £43.75 minus the £5 from tweaking my account settings. Not sure if there are any left though.

Spotted the 318 Toras today and nearly pressed buy but not sure about them , will they be ok on my 456 Summer season....
Are the coil ones at £135 a better buy...

merlin's Hayes stroker brake kit (sans rotors) for £70 is pretty good, similar to prices people are asking for used kits of same quality.

'Bargin' threads can be very annoying too though. I'm still losing sleep for not getting to Wiggle's Easton XC One wheel deal of last Thursday.

£165 for a £400 wheelset... 🙁

there are some really cheap xtr calipers, £30 on crc. Come with pads too. And the smbh63 hoses are a pair for £10, so you could build new xtr brakes for less than £60.

Where are these hose pairs for £10?
If they are £10 your maths wrong...10+28+28+levers=more than £60.

Cheap because they're crap!

Bah, thought I'd managed to get one of those XT mechs last night but got an email this morning saying they had run out. To add insult to injury Wiggle have also deducted the £5 voucher I had used from my refund as my order was now under £50. Not happy - hoping to just cancel the whole order but of course my account says it's processing and cannot be changed or cancelled!

i got those xtr levers cheaper elsewhere, but they're now gone. Hoses may have gone too, but i'm glad i bought in bulk. The levers seem fine for me, seem pretty solid. you may have higher standards than myself, all hail the King.

Damn, didn't see that code! Of course it would have just meant that they would have knocked £10 off my refund rather than £5! Apparently my order is packed and ready to dispatch. So they can't cancel it and that means it's cost me £5 to order something and have Wiggle remove it from my order (only ordered the other item at the time to bump the total above £50). Really not happy with them now...It's going back for a full refund on principle, so it'll cost them more in return postage!

This bargain thing is a paradox. Surely a bargain is only a bargain if you need it! Otherwise its just wasting money!
