My old Pace RC100 was in a right state, got it sprayed in pearl white by Brian Rourkes for £75 this also included adding some new brake mounts on the top tube, sadly the prices have recently gone up but the quality of the finish was superb:

Oops - mine was £35 at the local Powdercoaters. Look up any Powdercoaters in your areas. The one I visited principly sprayed street furniture. So the finish is/was tough etc etc.

One thing to note- make sure you clean/mask off EVERYTHING if you use a Powdercoater. They'd spray over your hand if you held onto the frame long enough. Bless them 🙄

depends on the place - armourtex (hackney) for example mask stuff off, but they they do frames as a dedicated service and not just slipping them in between industrial jobs.

sort of a mtb transformation,
i transformed this old gt talera into a wife bike for going to the pub:

Done by Orange. It's sliver flecked white like Tinsys above. £150 but that was for a strip, respray, stickers, head badge and main bearings.

I reckon it looks gorgeous........

Not sure Hora, I went in wanting a candy apple green like steel Kinesis Decade frames but they didn't have a huge range in stock - this was on the list of greens that they did have. That's no help, sorry 🙁

My old Turner was stove enameled 'metallic burnt copper' by Bob Jacksons in Leeds. £110 IRC. Includes stripping the old colour etc and would have included over lacquering (sp?) transfers if I wanted.

Linear Fade by Argos Cycles? (approx £100 inc postage a couple of years back) 8)

Blue?
[IMG] [/IMG]
Or pink?
[IMG] [/IMG]

Metallic Blue by Bob Jacksons? (cheaper - can't remember exact cost)

Another blue?
[IMG] [/IMG]

Matching SS?
[IMG] [/IMG]

If it was me, and it's one colour go for powder coat. The resprays, although look nice, chipped easily 🙁

so what different between powder coat and respraying.i used to work in a car body shop and have resprayed a few bike frames to a high standard.
i thought powdercoating gave a heavy finish that wasnt smooth and kind of plasticy(?) but lots of these look very smooth and flat?
ive found that resprayed frames(with car paint) are a bit chip prone tho..

Powder coating is a dry applied finish - literally a powder sprayed onto the frame, the powder and frame are charged and the powder sticks electrostatically.

then it is baked and the powder melts to form a very durable coating.

Respray is a wet applied finish i.e. a pigment in a solvent, cellulose, water etc that you spray on and wait for the solvent to evaporate.

2 pack is a sort of hybrid - think of it as a sprayable coloured 'araldite' the finish sets due to a chemical reaction from the 2 part (2 pack) elements of the spray - like araldite glue does.

I emailed Paul Sadoff direct from Rock Lobster in the US - the chap who designs them. He was only too please to supply me with some new decals providing I sent him a pic of the newly painted frame! Nice chap

swiggco@pacbell.net

The 853 sticker is from ebay.

It's Saab Graphite grey metallic and looks very good in the sun but too small in this photo. I've used black graphics and they almost blend in but not quite with I think looks cool.
