Saturday:
Southerly wind, steady drizzle, no prizes for guessing which direction we were headed.

Sunday:
End of the day. No prizes for guessing if I was wearing gloves or whether I'd bothered with suncream.

woteva.

1st proper ride in them, quite impressed. Obviously no answer to 2 hours of pissing rain, then another 8 of intermittent drizzle, but they stayed warm and comfy and were dry again by Eastbourne.

Brilliant. I only had Saturday on the Downs, spent Sunday in London cursing. ๐Ÿ™‚

I bet! We rode from Winchester to Truleigh Hill on the Saurday, and one of the fittest guys with us said it was "brutal". It took us so much longer than it should have done, and was so much more tiring than anyone expected, and most of us had done the route before. Sunday was a walk in the park by comparison. Beautiful! Sorry you missed it!
