  • Weekly photo challenge. 13.6.11 – 19.6.11 – Overgrown trails.
  • The request was for “Overgrown, flesh shredding, brambley bridleways”.
We’ve done bridleways recently, so include all bike trails, the more overgrown the better.

    The rules;
    1. Take a photo of your bike with something that matches the theme in the picture.
    2. Interpret the theme any way you like.
    3. Pictures should be taken between the dates in the topic title.
    4. If you post a picture you can either suggest a theme for next weeks challenge or vote for someone else’s suggestion. First suggestion to get two supporting votes becomes next weeks theme, probably

So my request for big knickers was over ruled – was it coz I cheated? 😀

You didn’t get two supporting votes. 😛

Yes, it is a trail . . . leads to a cracking little bit of downhill singletrack. Good job I’m only little 😉

I ride this twice a day. I’ve never met anyone else there, on a bike or on foot.

The path starts here, and is only half a mile long, but it’s mighty fine fun!

This is one of my very favourite lanes, it’s a decent length and almost always deserted. It’s also, almost always overgrown like this (and full of birds / insects):

This one is nearby, flat, shorter, and much harder to ride. The bit of open ground along under the hedge isn’t really wide enough to pedal properly, so you kinda either have to scoot along or do some cack-handed (cack-footed?) 1/4 pedal-stroke-bobbing-along-malarkey. You can’t ride in the central ditch as it’s not wide enough to get your pedals in, and it’s too deep to do any of that partial pedal-stroke business above the height of the ditch – other than that it’s a great lane. 😛

As a consequence, I often come home looking like this at this time of year.
Still, “Red badge of courage/Toughen up princess” and all that eh?

    Next week – Fully rigid, drop-bar’d single-speed 29er’s, beards, sandals and tie-dye or Star Wars t-shirt? 😉

No, err, ok then, what about Fly-tipping?

    what is it??

I was thinking of Wild Flowers for this week.
We’ve had suggestions for Sunshine and Fly Tipping.
Someone make the casting vote and I’ll start the thread.

It’s an Intense Uzzi Nick – love it to bits. Better to be overbiked than under, eh? 😆

Hmmmmmm, can’t help but think that in my neck of the woods, flytipping would’ve be a better subject than wild flowers 😉
