Should be a good one today I reckon. Wonder if Hammy can do something off the line?
Hungaroring is usually the most boring race of the season.
I'll be pottering round the house whilst listening to it after watching the 1st few laps to see if anything interesting happens.
Hopefully off the line will be webber, hamilton, massa, vettel and then alonso though I don't think anyone can beet the red bulls.
i think petrov's gonna thump somebody in the first corner
Pook - MemberShould be a good one today I reckon. Wonder if Hammy can do something off the line?
Loose his front wing on the back of someones car? Or puncture someones rear tyre with his front wing?
what tyres for a reccy lap on a rigid bike?
TJ, reel yourself in. Bias already from one who waxes lyrical on equality is rather revealing.
Alonso to jump the Red Bulls off the start. Sail off into the distance. RBs to crash then bitch about it to each other, maybe even a nice little fight. Massa to have a good battle with the American/Swiss driver just behind him. Petrov to barge through and take a podium. Button to moan about the car not feeling right. STW to have a right argument about it all after the race.
Here we go!
I can't see much changing now.
Waiting for the real race to start- who can be the first to mention Moto GP in this thread.
I'd say about a minute ago
So, up to what position is vettel going to lap cars?
I reckon 6th
Bored now.
SAFETY CAR OUT!
Excellent. This might make things more interesting...
Mirror, signal, manouvre!
Yep! It's all going off in the pits now! Crashes, bouncing wheels, the lot!
whe4re's the benny hill music?
Ooh! The American's out!
Still quite boring though.
Lewis is out!
Lol vettel under investigation
Vettel under investigation. Webber still out on soft tyres. Ferrari 1-2?
Pity the most interesting action isn't on the track. As a 'race', this is not a great spectacle.
I'm thinking, webber, alonso, vettel
So why don't you go play outside on the road then
I'm thinking vettel webber alonso
Assuming a drive through, not stop go etc
I don't think vettel will manage to stay in the lead
Ha ha at vettel. Who was that gesture aimed at?
Webber still has to pit though. There's a slim chance he can pass alonso before that
Webbers best chance is to pit asap really
Lol
I think webber will do it, he need +22 seconds and he will be fine.
As long as Webber is 6 to 7 tenths quicker than anyone his best bet is to pit on the last lap...
Not if vettel can get past alonso, though unlikely
Pity the most interesting action isn't on the track. As a 'race', this is not a great spectacle.
are you watching the F1 at Hungary like the rest of us?
As I said as long as he is faster than anyone behind him...
So hamilton will be in third of maclaren second after today
Gonna be good when vettel tries to pass alonso
this is a great show. tactics, driving, drama, crashes. F1. ๐
Pook - it ain't bias - that was my guess as to what would happen based on previous - completely wrong this time - Hamilton rather cautious under braking.
with the track being hard to overtake on I guessed Hamilton would be keen to make up places off the start as he often is - sometimes too keen. Instead he had a brake issue and was cautious and lost a place.
I see Hamilton and Button rather like Burns and McRae in rallying were - one relatively cautious and consolidating, the other win or bust.
Both won championships.
Its always a shame tho when someone has a mechanical that puts them out.
Outstanding drive from Webber - deserves to win with that.
are you watching the F1 at Hungary like the rest of us?
It's better now, that Alonso and Vettel are battling, I have to say. Webber to spin, make it an exciting last few laps?
Cars disappearing off into the distance and no chance of any overtaking is boring, I think everyone will agree.
Come on, let's have another safety car!
Why is Vettel so rubbish when it comes to overtaking?
I was just thinking that, seems like a similar situation with webber, good drivers but not "racers"...
If webber and vettel were in maclarens this year, they'd be 5th or 6th in the championship
Double post
good drivers but not "racers".
That's an interesting view. In terms of real battlers, the best 'racers' in F1 currently are Alonso, Hamilton and Schumacher. Watch Schuey right now, with Barrichelo behind him. Ruebens in a much quicker car, but Schuey will do everything to keep him behind. As will Alonso. The race where he kept Schuey behind him for so long, in a much slower car, showed what a real battler he is. Vettel needs Alonso to make a mistake, which is unlikely. More likely that Vettel will overdo it in frustration and go off the track really.
schumy *shakes head*
if ever there was a need for a black flag
Schuey will do everything to keep him behind
including deliberatly trying to run someone into a wall?
schumy - attempted murder?
I see Schumacher hasn't lost his 'killer' instinct - Barricello very lucky not to be embedded in the wall.
Ha ha! Nipped off for a pee, missed Barichello overtaking Schuey! But see that? Shuey just doesn't know when to give up. He's lost his edge, no longer the driver he once was, but still a racer at heart. Very dangerous move that though.
Dirty Hun!
That's racing, Senna would have done the same.
That is definately a black flag offence
Had Alonso been in the RedBull and Vettel in the Ferrari, guaranteed Alonso would have attacked like mad. 2nd is a good result for him considering the speed of those Red Bulls.
I'd love to see the WC closed right up so that 4 or 5 drivers can win it, going into the last race.
Vettel's turning into a petulant little sod isn't he?
Is Vettel going to trip over his bottom lip?
Drive of the day definately the big cry baby though. It's too easy when your car is 1.5 seconds a lap faster, not exactly a hard fought victory
Vettel's not happy, but then why didn't he attack Alonso more?
Wonder if rubens will lamp schumacher one? I certainly would, so would prost or senna!
With a car 1.5 seconds faster he should have driven past Alonso rather than sliding sideways over the aprons trying to give it the beans all the time.
WHO WAS SHE??? 8)
Just highlights the difference between alonso and vettel. Different league really
Wonder if rubens will lamp schumacher one? I certainly would, so would prost or senna!
Prost wouldn't lamp anyone. Senna, definitely! Mansell would have moaned incessantly at them, Damon Hill would have played his guitar at them, and James Hunt would have blown cigarette smoke in their face then nicked their woman in front of them. Hamilton would probably have got very upset and had a little cry. And got his dad on them.
Pook - MemberWHO WAS SHE???
Don't know but she had impressive credentials ๐
As a 'race', this is not a great spectacle.
good summary of F1 that..
First 'race' I've watched in a while as a lapsed fan, and it still isn't.
Or maybe I've just watched enough of them to become bored of the 'spectacle'.
I left the sofa after the 7th lap and went out. I honestly thought everyone upto 5th would finish in their starting positions.
Schu needs to quit. No talk of 'next years car etc' either. Hes definitely lost his talent.
At least Lance cameback and gave a really good account for himself.
He will. Give it time.
Its really doing damage though to his rep. So he should stay. We are seeing the old Schu coming out- the cheat, the disregard, the lack of sporting.
Keep him on- let him royally embarrass himself further.
Unless Mercedes can engineer secret launch control etc into his car ๐
The schuey incident was bang out of order and Vettel couldn't even park his car right at the end, crashed into the sign post! If i ever saw someone throwing toys out of his pram it would of been Vettel, i really don't see what the problem was, he broke the rules but still came 3rd, most drivers would call that a result!
Whats with the trophies as well, wouldnt want to sit on them by mistake thats them trashed!
I know people admire Senna, Schumacher etc for their 'ruthlessness' as they were 'racers'.
Personally Its ****ing bollocks.
You can have close wheel-to-wheel racing, be a spirited-racer without being reckless with someone elses life.
Its not 'tame' to think my way. Ruthlessness is actually 'Im not doing too well so I'll hit you rather than marvel at your good-form this race.
Thats the reason why I've never rated Senna as one of the best. To win 'at all costs' isn't in the spirit of racing.
To win 'at all costs' isn't in the spirit of racing
?
What is then? Care to enlighten us all?
Watching replay- why is Vettel waving his hands around going down the pit/taking a drive-through?
What is then? Care to enlighten us all?
How many great racing drivers pushed their compatriots into walls, swerved across hard to ram them when they realised their race was over or deliberately rammed another driver to end the race in their favour?
Are these people your 'heroes'?
Whoooooooooooooooaaaaaa. 10 grid place-drop should be a race ban IMO.
Crackers.

Erm, Schumacher and Senna? ๐
Although I can't remember Senna doing so to a fellow Brazillian, or Schuey to a fellow German...
Talented and possibly consistently the best in their field at the time but not truly 'great' IMO.
If Schumacher played far he wouldn't hold 7 championships. 4.
