Evening all,
I have just returned from a Sunny weekend in the Highlands with tired legs and a brand new vibration in my camper van.
Since this forum is the place to find advice on anything....
The vibration started suddenly and is felt through the pedals and front bulkhead. Occurs mainly at 60 to 70 mph but can be other speeds.
Comes and goes for no apparent reason when driving.
Is related to road speed, not engine speed.
Pressing cluth pedal makes no difference.
Tapping the brake pedal stops the vibration immediately.
It may then restart.....
I will be calling Ford obviously however does anyone here know what I have broken on my van?
Cheers, Dave 😀
Knackered shock absorber (get someone to drive alongside and see if any of the wheels are bouncing)
Or
Buckled wheel, loose wheel bolts, lost wheel balancing weight or damaged tyre. Swap both front wheels to the back and see if it changes.
I'll take wheel bearings for 6
Tapping the brake pedal stops the vibration immediately.
If vibration stops when braking then check for play/knackered front wheel bearing
Dab on the break stopping it equals wheel bearing in in my experience.
Or a lightly binding brake caliper, which could be heating up massively (and wrecking) your disc.
Bearing is a simple and cheap fix
