Do people really think or worry themselves about this kind of thing?
A friend had a 79 Lincoln Town Car which was pretty cool although it did get stuck in the BK drive-thru once.

I miss my old Land Rover 90 a hell of a lot, but don't miss worrying about it getting nicked or breaking down.

Saab 9000CSE with extras. Fast & furious, big & beautiful, comfortable and quiet.

But no regrets, she'd done 170ooo miles, ans I just don't need a big car these days

Mercedes A-class great fun to drive pretty nippy for a 1.4, economical and great for getting a couple of bikes in. Was glad to see it go though as the most unreliable car i've ever owned.

Corrado VR6, sitting in the garage at the moment SORN until I find a job, still in two minds as to whether I should sell it, don't drive it much anymore, but when I do drive it i'm back to thinking I should keep it...

I had a 1972 MG Midget that was loads of fun (when it worked), but my favourite was my first new car, 2001 Audi S3. Loved it...

My Beetle was a smashing car. Bog standard but put a smile on my face every time. Bags of character.

MK2 XR2. What a motor, like a go cart. Didn't sell it but rolled it. Get in.!

My Saab 9-3 Convertable, haven't sold it yet but may have to because of company car. It's a Monte Carlo yellow one with 50,000 on the clock.

Every time I drive it I have a huge grin. Roof down, music loud and the sunburn on the head. 8)

Ford Granada 2.9 24v Cosworth.
Fast, roomy, handled, all the toys you could want and the company paying the fuel bills...

Miss my GT4. It sits unloved currently awaiting spare cash to get her running again. Any nice sweepy country road gives me a tinge of sadness as I'm not driving it, it always made me grin and lightened my day. The commute home was never a bore even when stuck in traffic. Comfy, fast, good handling, a little bit way, a little bit woah. And the ability to 4-wheel drift round deserted wet roundabouts at night is sorely missed. It was a car that felt as comfy cruising sensibly through a 30 zone at 25, or screaming at full bore down an open B road.

Close call between the 3.2L TT or the RX8. Sold the TT but still got the RX8. I do miss the torque of the V6 and the build and interior of the Audi. RX8 is more spacious in the back although bike carrying was probably slightly easier in the TT with a hatch rear.

Not as much as thye'll have cynic-al for his Amazon 😀

Used to love our old Classic Rangerover, that was lovely to drive. Stresses of the world seemed to pass you by when perched high up. Loads of time to react to stuff (you needed it!) and views of the country around werent blocked by hedges and other traffic.

My 106GTi:

Owned it for nearly 6 years, only sold because I changed jobs and was doing silly mileage.

For the money, nothing else I've driven that's capable of carrying 2 people + 2 bikes has come close.

Technically not mine but my dad had an RX7 for a while and I used that for a few months while inbetween cars. That was a wonderful car to drive and made such a scary noise when you floored it.

Best car i've ever owned myself, is probably my current one, and I am so going to suffer for this, a Diesel Honda Accord. 😉 So comfy, like being in an arm chair in a living room.

Alfasud TI

likethisone

flat4 twin weber carbs leather interior - fast for the time

got rid of it when needed new handbrake for MOT - believe it or not you had to take the engine out to get to the brake which was in the middle of the front drive shaft

Had one of these - just a great all round car. Bikes and anything else you could think of fitted nicely in the back too - surprisingly practical. Regret selling it - yep!

Late Mk 1 Passat. Went well, handled well, went on for ages. Lovely car. Didn't sell it, had to scrap it as it was on its last legs.

Also loved our 1.8 Mk2 Golf, but it had to go as the gearbox was playing up.

Do love our current cars though: 1.8T Octavia and 1.8 Passat.

Richcc, me too. Except mine was black. Owned from new (only new car I've ever bought), had it for 5 years, loved it to bits. Only sold it because I couldn't carry more than one bike easily (explored various options - roof bars, rear rack, towbar, couldn't find anything).

I keep spotting a red one with a towbar at various events... slightly annoying.

Got an impreza WRX 5 door now, practical and fast but not special like the ITR.

Owned many many many cars, and driven some supercars through work, but, of all of them, this is the one I wish I had now.

🙂

...Shame I lived in London. It did 18MPG. I blew the engine. Knocked someone over on the way back from the engine being replaced.
Ahh. Happy days.

Put this back on the road after storage for 18 months, the ex was going to take it and I ended up keeping the Mondeo we had, fortunately the Mondeo got stolen and the ex couldn't afford to insure the Civic.
I will never sell this car, it's the memories it carries more than what it is, been on the track a couple of times, can't wait until I have enough funds to buy an Integra 🙂

V12 with electric powered superchargers too good to sell or scrap - still drives like £70K's worth and can give a M5 a run for its money:

I've been very lucky to drive some fun cars:

Mini Cooper (original) ex-works racer (track only)
Renault Clio Williams (original one)
Porche 930 (Turbo) ex-works racer (track only) (400BHP!)
BMW M3 Left-hand drive original version
BMW M3 E36 modified to 340 BHP

Sadly serious illness meant my business suffered, then I got married and has a son, now drive a bogo standard Mondeo

Nicest is difficult either the Clio Wiliams or the LHD M3

Mk1 Escort - great car, fun handling, and as much sideways fun you could want at 40mph. Sold that when my Marlin kit car was finished - that was a cherished fun car, only sold to buy a bike!

Surprised to see so many Golfs. My first car was a Mk1 GTI,a failed attempt to wean myself off m/bikes(smashing myself up,friends getting killed etc). I did like Mk1,but all the lardy, big ugly brutes that have apppeared since have been a total turn off.
Not fussed about cars now, just transport. Did like the Integra Type R that appeared earlier.

Mine would have to be this:

Great car to drive and a bit of a childhood dream after following the Touring Cars in the late 80s.

Never got to sell it as I lost it in the Sheffield floods two years ago.

First thoughts were either of the two Alfa, Guila GTJ or Alfasud ti for pure fun even though being a flat 4 didn't like deep puddles.

But would have to say the car a miss most was my Lancia Fulvia Rallye Coupe. Fab motor corner on rails great seats & just fun, fun, fun. Italian Red black bonnet & boot with cromodora wheels. Had to sell it when I had to move & lost my garage. All I have left is the tool kit & manual.
I need a beer

I have three cars I regret selling, MK3 Golf GTI 16v, Landrover 90 TD5 2004 and my true love which was by Suzuki SJ413 off roader would go anyway through anything. Had it completly submerged in water once had to bail out the roof lol.

Now have got 08 Saab 93 sport. Which is nice but not the character of the Golf or Suzy

Biggest regret was selling my 172cup. Everything else i owned/drove afterwards just left me feeling bored. So 6 months later i bought another one :-). Its horribly built, the electrics are dire, the ride and noise make me go mad, but every time I come close to selling this one I go for a decent drive or a track day and it just makes me fall in love with it again. No matter what ive got i think until i build a garage i can keep a catherham in ill always keep this one for play time.
[img] [/img]
And i can get 2 dh bikes in the back!

Mine was my silver Puma 1.7 Zetec. Really loved that little car, handled like a dream, sounded wonderful when you revved it hard, fitted me perfectly and was so comfortable on long trips, and the design just hasn't dated. Had to get rid of it when made redundant and the new job didn't pay as much. Twenty five to the gallon with the roof bars for the bike carrier on, over £300 to insure and £170 tax was too much, compared to to 45-59 per, £110 tax and £155 insurance for my current Octavia 1.9TDi. Still get pangs every time I see a Puma: maybe I'll get a windfall and be able to to buy a Racing Puma on day... *sigh*

lol about the a-class they are notoriously poor in the reliability stakes.

the most fun car was a 205 gti .

the best & most reliable car a volvo v-40 2.0. 11 years old 108k still does everything so well reliable comfortable very good quality feel & has never needed a non servicable/wearing part fitted since it was in the family brand new.

plus it doesn,t get me annoyed that the kids & wife have no respect for the car what so ever .

The best car I've ever owned would be my Mark V GTI. Looked at replacing it with a Focus RS and just couldn't justify the outlay, its the perfect all-rounder.

Car I should never have sold - 2003 Toyota Hilux Double Cab D4D. Never skipped a beat for three winters in the Alps, could tow anything, sat at 80 on the motorway, so many memories. Still regret selling it. Consoling myself with plans to buy an old one some day and do it up.

Nice to see some 205s, always wanted one as a kid. Loddrik has had some nice cars!

Armstrong-Siddeley Hurricane dhc - had to leave it behind when I went to Oz.

Any of several Mini Mokes (Oz version with big wheels). Wish I had kept one.

Like my current car Volvo S80, but my daggy ancient Renault Espace is more fun as it is always full of bikes.

Fitted a kick ass sound system in it tho !

My first ever car purchased on my own.
Loved it ! Pics are somewhere, but not digital.

Bought off my GF a few years back when it was current and sold to my old man when I went to uni.

SE model with big wheels as std and full leather and all extras including M-tech suspension Mmm.
Thirsty but the 6 cylinders was great and it had solid handling.

I think the tyres cost more than my current old banger bike mobile!

Wish I could afford a new car! I'd buy a cheap estate to transport bike to Wales!

No such thing as chav in the late 80s. Simple car, 1600 no injection, 4 gears, no sunroof, went like stink if you thrashed it and went through front tyres like they were going out of fashion. Written off a few weeks after it had a new engine, gutted.

Simnple but handled great, good economy back then, nippy and you could still put shopping in the back with 2 kids.

Wasn't too dear on the money. Cheap to service/repair.
